Bollywood Baatein

Wah India

With the loss of original ideas and enough of copying movies from Hollywood, Bollywood is all set to go retro. Old films are getting re-launched and filmmakers are digging into History books for film subjects. Protagonists range from freedom fighters to forgotten royalty. JP Dutta has chosen one such ‘stunningly beautiful’ subject, Rajmata Gayatri Devi, the Maharani of Jaipur for his forthcoming film. He is in London where he joins the Rajmata for the research of his film. He has chosen ‘the most beautiful girl in the world’, Aishwarya Rai to play Gayatri Devi. The uncrowned Queen of Bollywood, Aishwarya Rai has been reported to be thrilled to bits about her new role. Though known all over the world for her legendary beauty and grace, people in her home state West Bengal love the Rajmata for the work she has done for them. She entered politics in 1962 as a member of the Swatantra Party and was jailed in 1972, during emergency. The royal lady with ethereal good looks, Gayatri Devi was named one of the most beautiful women in the world by Vogue magazine.

Rumors are around that Kareena Kapoor will be taking a matrimonial break, as she is not signing any films right now. Kareena was shocked on hearing that. "The news is total rubbish! There's no truth in it at all. The idea hasn't think about it now - my good phase is beginning. I'll never let go of my career for a man. No marriage for me, at least not for the next eight years, at least. Till then, cinema, cinema and only good cinema!" she explains. Well bad luck Shahid guess you have to wait for another eight years to get your janeman!

Not a single week passes by when we don’t talk about our big “B” Amitabh Bachchan.  News is that at the first day of the IIFA Awards weekend in Amsterdam this year, there will be a book presentation for the international press. Amitabh Bachchan will present the first copy of a book called 'Behind the scenes of Hindi Cinema' to the mayor of Amsterdam.

This book unlike almost all other books on Indian Cinema is much more than just pretty pictures. The book also explains why Indian cinema is so popular across the world. Another person whose hands are full with plum offers is Priyanka Chopra. She and Salman will be seen once again in Rumi Jafferey's directorial debut God Tussi Great Ho, produced by Afzal Khan. The film is a comedy and besides Priyanka and Salman, will star two more big actors and actresses. Although the filmmakers are not confirming, the buzz is Salman's close friend Sanjay Dutt is one of them. Keep watching us and we shall provide you with an update on this soon.

IIFA has selected actress Shabana Azmi and veteran cinematographer V.K. Murthy for the lifetime achievement award. It doesn’t believe in reserving this award for only those who have retired. We must say IIFA stays up to the image of being different from the run-of-the-mill Bollywood awards.

Well known model Maushmi Udeshi is making her debut flick 'Lips: The Kiss of Death', which will be released in August. She plays a wife of a millionaire in love with another man. The film is a romantic thriller and has many hot love scenes. She reveals, "I was very comfortable doing the romantic scenes because I am a complete romantic at heart. The only hitch was that I found it difficult to look into the hero's eyes for so long, since I'm an introvert!" She adds, "It was a great experience. Director Sameer Malkan is an excellent person and the cast was great. I just had a fabulous time." We wish her all the best and hope that her hot love scenes don’t land her in any controversial soup.
