‘Staying paranoid and focused on your goals, even when things are bound to change’ was the essence of a talk given by Sudha Jamthe, Co Founder and CEO of Coola.INC. Ms Jamthe was the keynote speaker at the Indus Women Networking event on April 25th at the Burlington Marriott.

Sharing her story of her company,Coola Inc. that was founded by husband Shirish Jamthe and herself in a presentation entitled,’An Entrepreneurial Journey’ she recalled how at the height of the internet boom and wireless technology,Coola's idea to let you grab information from the Web and easily transfer it to your PDA was spotted as an rational business. A novel offering, that would work convincingly and it did during the time. The lessons learned, however were far more valuable in terms of education and experience. To her a good company meant good people who believe in a vision and work hard towards it. Knowing the investor, your customer, respecting time and knowing when to exit were some of the important lessons that she learnt from her experience. Asked if she would do anything differently the next time, she admitted that for Coola, she had raised one million dollars in 40 days and the next time she would try to raise more and smilingly added, exit positively with money. Sudha concluded with the remark that ‘Constant optimism is a force multiplier’ and the fact that you see yourself as an entrepreneur is proof enough that you have much more hope than an average person.

Radha Jalan,Chairperson, Indus Women in her welcome speech noted that an enthusiastic response to the event meant an interest and need for this service. She urged the many present to become members and outlined future TIE event that might be of interest to all.The event was sponsored by Panbil group, a company that focused on Webcasting, technology and marketing services.
