NetSAP-Boston Celebrates Holi

Press Release
04/07/2005

The Boston Chapter of the Network of South Asian Professionals (NetSAP-Boston) recently organized “Holi Hungama” at Rasoi restaurant in Framingham, MA, on Saturday, March 26th. Holi is usually celebrated in India to mark the arrival of Spring Season with various colors, food, and music. The event was full of colors, music, dance, food and attracted people from all over New-England region.

This splendid gala event, the first major cultural event of NetSAP for 2005, featured more than 150 people in attendance, including some participants who drove all the way from Connecticut and Rhode Island. The music played by the DJ kept everyone on their feet as they danced to the traditional Holi songs while throwing festive colors at each other. For those who knew little about this festival of colors, the event was both educational and entertaining. A sumptuous lunch buffet provided by Rasoi was an added feature.

Kas Sharma, President of NetSAP-Boston, said “We held this event to celebrate Holi and to provide an experience of this festival of colors for those who may not have had this chance before. It was nice to see people of all ages come together and have fun.”

Binita Patel, Vice-President added, "This year's Holi celebration was a huge success.  It was wonderful to see people come from all over New England to participate in our program.  I think everyone had a very good time.  The NetSAP Holi event marks a new beginning for our organization.  The board has a lot of creative ideas for this year.  The Holi event was just a taste of all the great programs and events we've got lined up for the rest of 2005!”

Tushneem Dharmagadda, Secretary remarked, “The turn-out was good. The entire NetSAP team worked hard to put this event together especially our Cultural Chair Shailender Nagpal. It was great to see so many people enjoy on the day.”

NetSAP has many cultural, professional and social events lined up this year. The Bhangra/Bollywood party coming up on May 7th is the next big cultural/social event being organized by NetSAP and we want everyone to be there and have fun.
