Ancient Indian Epic Comes Alive: "Ramleela Reimagined" Charms New England Audiences

Bringing a fresh, modern perspective to an ancient epic, Ramleela – Reimagined captivated an enthusiastic crowd of attendees on Sunday, October 18, 2026, at Regis College in Weston. Presented by Hub of Myths—a Weston-based nonprofit dedicated to bringing timeless stories from world mythology to life—the vibrant theatrical production successfully blended deep cultural tradition with creative flair.

Performed entirely in English, the play welcomed audiences of all backgrounds and generations to experience a narrative rich in adventure, courage, love, loyalty, and the timeless triumph of good over evil. What made Ramleela Reimaginedespecially compelling was its imaginative storytelling framework: the epic unfolded through warm conversations between grandparents and their grandchildren, seamlessly bridging ancient traditions with contemporary perspectives to show how heritage continues to inspire and unite us today.

Featuring a dedicated cast of around 45 local actors ranging from young children to adults, the community theater production drew rapt attention and warm applause from families throughout Greater Boston. Produced by Anita Varma, Bhanu Srinivasan, and Navjot Singh, and directed by Bhavna Patel Shah and Sakshi Sibal alongside a talented team of local performers, the engaging performance highlighted the enduring power of the Ramayana while showcasing the vibrant artistic spirit of the New England community.

Hub of Myths was founded in 2025 by Varma, Srinivasan, and Singh to foster cultural understanding and intergenerational connections through community-driven theater. Following a highly successful inaugural production in Newton last year, the group expanded to the larger stage at Regis College this fall—a milestone recently featured in The Weston Observer.

More than a theatrical presentation, Ramleela Reimagined stood as a celebration of cultural heritage, active community participation, and the universal power of storytelling.
