Assi Nabbe Poore Sau: A Remarkable Beginning for Ekal New Hampshire

What began as an idea for Ekal New Hampshire’s first fundraiser turned into an unforgettable afternoon of music, community, generosity and impact.

Held on September 13 at Nashua High School North, Assi Nabbe Poore Sau marked a major milestone for the newly formed Ekal Vidyalaya New Hampshire Chapter. The community came together with a shared purpose, supporting education and opportunity for children in rural and underserved communities across India.

And the impact was remarkable: Ekal New Hampshire raised support for 75 Ekal schools, reaching more than 2,000 children.

The fundraiser was organized under the leadership of Ekal New Hampshire Chapter President Aarti Khurana, with the guidance and support of Manisha Jain, Executive Director Ekal USA and Parveen Minocha, Regional President - Northeast alongside a dedicated team of volunteers.

The chapter was honored to welcome longtime Nashua community leaders Dr. Kedar Gupta and Renu Gupta as Chief Guests, whose presence and encouragement made the occasion even more meaningful.

At the heart of the celebration was DinCheck, whose electrifying performance of Bollywood favorites spanning the ’80s, ’90s and 2000s brought the audience to its feet. Ekal NH’s inaugural fundraiser also marked DinCheck’s 100th live show during the 25th year of Ekal Vidyalaya USA, bringing three special milestones together on one stage.

The event was made possible in part by the generous support of its sponsors: Gold Sponsor Poppy’s Paintings & Writings by Poppy Charnalia; Silver Sponsor Dr. Tej Dhakar, Professor at Southern New Hampshire University; and Bronze Sponsor Padma Sonti Homes by Padma Sonti. Local vendors also enthusiastically supported the cause, adding vibrancy and a wonderful community spirit to the afternoon.

Behind the scenes, NH volunteers and our young Ekal Youth Leaders (EYLs), helped manage registration, refreshments and guest coordination. The EYLs alongside Youth Director Rakhi Grover also highlighted Ekal’s youth initiatives and ways to get involved, carrying the spirit of seva into the next generation.

For Khurana, the milestone represented something larger than executing a successful first event - it was about building a community around the belief that education can transform a child along with a family and ultimately an entire village.

75 schools. More than 2,000 children reached. One unforgettable beginning. Assi Nabbe Poore Sau was not simply Ekal New Hampshire’s first fundraiser, it was the beginning of a much larger journey of seva, community and impact.
