An appeal to my fellow Indian Americans- Nepal Flood Disaster Relief Fund

As you must have known by now, Nepal is going through a devastating time as severe flash flooding and mudslide have affected communities, damaged homes and infrastructure, displaced families, and left many people struggling to access basic necessities. In the aftermath of this natural disaster, countless families are facing uncertainty and hardship, with urgent needs for food, clean drinking water, medicine, clothing, temporary shelter, and other essential supplies. Children, elderly people, and vulnerable families are especially in need of immediate assistance. At this critical moment, India Association of New Hampshire (IANH) urges all its members and all the Indian Americans to step up and extend their helping hands to those affected by this disaster. Even a small contribution can make a significant difference when we all come together with compassion and solidarity. Your donation can help provide emergency relief, support families who have lost their homes and belongings, and give affected communities the resources they need to begin recovering and rebuilding their lives.

We have had cultural ties with Nepal for centuries and we share lots of common values and traditions with them. We both are peace loving neighbors. In the past our Indian community had helped Nepalese/Bhutanese refugees settle in New Hampshire, find stability, build new lives, and eventually stand on their own feet. Let us show the people of Nepal again that they are not alone during this crisis and that their Indian neighbors, whether they are in India or the Indian diaspora in New Hampshire, stand with them. We have started a fundraising drive called Nepal Flood Disaster Relief Fund and India Association of New Hampshire (IANH) has committed a starting sum of Five Thousand dollars for this fund. We urge all our members, and their families and friends to kindly pitch in, so that we can come up with a much larger sum that we can donate to provide relief and hope to families affected by this devastating disaster. This fundraiser will continue through our Diwali celebration, which is scheduled for October 24, 2026, at Nashua North High School. Diwali is a festival of giving, let's dedicate this Diwali to helping the people of Nepal during this difficult time.
