The Boston Saptaha Gyan Mahayagya 2026, organized by the Pashupatinath Buddha Temple and Nepali Community Center, concluded successfully after eight days of devotion, spiritual learning, cultural celebration, and community unity. Held from Sunday, August 16 through Sunday, August 23, 2026, the Mahayagya took place daily from 8:00 AM to 8:00 PM at the Temple premises located at 594 Washington Street, Braintree, Massachusetts. Boston Saptaha Gyan Mahayagya 2026 was narrated by the renowned preacher Guru Shri Dinbandhu Pokharel Ji. President of Pashupatinath Buddha Foundation of New England (PABFONE) Bishnu Karki; Vice Presidents, Yaleena Shrestha, Suresh Wagle, and Bijaya Tamang; General Secretary, Gaurab Thapaliya, and Secretary, Ranjan Thapa worked hard to the put the event together.

The week-long religious event brought together hundreds of Nepali devotees and well-wishers from Massachusetts and neighboring states. The Mahayagya served not only as a sacred religious gathering but also as a celebration of Nepalese culture, traditions, and the strong sense of community among Nepalis living in the United States.

Grand Inauguration with Historic Kalash Yatra

The Mahayagya commenced on Sunday, August 16, with a magnificent Kalash Yatra (holy procession) that began at 2:00 PM from Braintree Town Hall and concluded at the Pashupatinath Buddha Temple.

The colorful procession featured:

• Traditional Panche Baja and other Nepali musical ensembles.
• Cultural dances and devotional performances.
• Beautifully decorated religious tableaux (Jhankis).
• Men, women, and children dressed in traditional Nepali attire.
• Devotees carrying sacred Kalashs while chanting hymns and prayers.

The procession transformed the streets of Braintree into a vibrant display of Nepalese heritage and spirituality. The event attracted an overwhelming turnout, with hundreds of participants walking together in devotion, symbolizing unity, faith, and cultural pride.

Special parking arrangements were coordinated at Braintree Town Hall, Brow Avenue Parking Lot, Hollis Elementary School, and Braintree Library to accommodate the large number of participants, ensuring smooth traffic flow and convenient access for devotees.

Eight Days of Spiritual Enlightenment

Throughout the week, devotees gathered daily to participate in religious discourses, devotional singing, bhajans, prayers, and other sacred rituals. The Mahayagya provided an atmosphere of peace, devotion, and spiritual reflection where families, elders, youth, and children came together to seek blessings and strengthen their connection with Sanatana Dharma.

The inspiring narration by the Kathakar, Guru Shri Dinbandhu Pokharel Ji captivated the audience each day, delivering profound spiritual teachings through engaging storytelling based on Hindu scriptures. The devotional music performed by talented musicians and singers further enriched the spiritual environment, creating memorable moments for all attendees. The event also became a wonderful opportunity for members of the Nepali diaspora to reconnect with their language, traditions, and cultural values while strengthening friendships and community bonds.

Mr. Maheshwar Pant, who serves as a member of the Board of Trustees for the Pashupatinath Buddha Temple and Nepali Community Center, coordinated the entire program with exceptional professionalism, ensuring that every aspect of the week-long event was organized efficiently. His careful planning, effective communication, and tireless commitment contributed significantly to the smooth execution of the Mahayagya from beginning to end.

A large team of volunteers worked selflessly throughout the event, managing registration, logistics, parking, crowd coordination, hospitality, cleanliness, and various operational responsibilities. Their cheerful service and disciplined coordination were deeply appreciated by all participants.

Equally remarkable was the dedication of the Kitchen Committee, whose members prepared and served meals and refreshments with warmth and devotion every day. Their selfless service reflected the true spirit of seva and hospitality that is central to Nepali religious traditions.

The Mahayagya concluded on Sunday, August 23, with special prayers and expressions of gratitude. During the closing ceremony, the President of the Pashupatinath Buddha Temple and Nepali Community Center extended heartfelt thanks to everyone who contributed to the remarkable success of the program.
