Shashank Madala is an Indian American rising senior at Robbinsville High School in New Jersey. This month he returned from Shenzhen, China, where he was one of five students in the country selected to represent Team USA at the 2026 International Economics Olympiad. It was the first year the United States competed in person, and the team placed 6th of 52 countries in the International Business Case Competition.

Alongside the Olympiad, he has founded Lumin AI, a nonprofit that has issued 5,200+ AI course certificates across six countries, and built Kora, an AI app that supports families of autistic children, used by 700+ people across three countries.

Since returning, offices in the New Jersey Legislature, including Senator Linda Greenstein's, have begun issuing ceremonial resolutions recognizing the achievement, New Jersey Stage published a feature on the team's two New Jersey members, and India-West and Global Indian have invited feature pieces.
