Kumu Gupta's Artworks, Entries for The Guild of Boston Artists Exhibition
Miss Kumu Gupta's " Lotus" and " FIFA Boston" acrylic on canvas paintings are entries for the prestigious Guild of Boston Artists' 2026 Annual New England Regional Juried Exhibition , held in the historic President's Gallery on Newbury Street.
"Lotus (meaning of Kumu's name Kumudini in Sanskrit) is a painting of a Lotus flower on water and FiFA Boston is of the World Cup Trophy amidst America's 250th Anniversary. Kumu recently started painting, over last 2 years, as a hobby and this is her first entry for a Juried Painting Exhibition.
Kumu is a long time hobby photographer and her work was an Entry for Quincy Art Association' s Art Fest earlier, with Kumu's Artist profile featured as "Artist of the Month" in Discover Quincy's Arts Alive section. Kumu gifted her photograph " Spring in Quincy: Thomas Crane Library " to the City of Quincy.
Kumu had the honor of being a Judge for Photography entries in the 1st ever Photography and Paintings Exhibition " Painting Peace Field" contest by the Adams National Historical Park, where Kumu's photograph" Adams Mansion " ( home of Founding Father & 2nd US President John Adams) was an entry , with the legendary Artist Christopher Gurshin who did President Reagan' s White House Easter Egg Roll Egg design as Judge for Paintings entries. Kumu received Special Certificate of Recognition by Superintendent of the Park Service for participating in the contest.
Early on, Kumu's black and white photo "Winter Star" was chosen for Editor's Choice Award by International Society of Photographers, in which only 12% entries get chosen. Kumu also received Special Citation for 2011 "Spotlight on Excellence" Awards as Amazing Artist for photography by Lokvani newspaper.
Miss Gupta was a special invited guest at a Copley Society of Art Exhibition reception. CoSo is the oldest non profit art association in the US ,with history dating back to 1879.
Selected Artists will be notified August 1st with Opening Reception and Awards Night August 29th and the Exhibition of selected works is from August 29-Sept 26th 2026.
Established 1914, The Guild of Boston Artists modeled after the historic guilds of Europe , is a non profit art gallery created to be an artist owned and operated gallery. It is the oldest continuing artist-owned gallery in the country. Uniquely for its time, one-third of the Guild's original 1914 members were women. The Guild of Boston Artists membership is by invitation only.
