Panakam is a refreshing drink traditionally prepared during the hot summer months, especially during festivals such as Rama Navami. Made with jaggery, lemon juice, cardamom, and dry ginger, it offers a perfect blend of sweetness, tanginess, and gentle spice. A glass of chilled Panakam is not just a drink—it is a time-honored South Indian remedy for staying energized, refreshed, and cool during the summer season.

For maximum cooling effect during summer, prepare Panakam with jaggery, lemon, dry ginger, cardamom, and a few crushed Tulsi or mint leaves, chill lightly (not ice-cold), and consume fresh during the afternoon when body heat is highest.
