When Will You Come, O Krishna?

Text Box:O Krishna, where are You today?
The dawn has come, yet You delay
The flute is silent, the breeze stands still
My restless heart bends to Your will

I search for You in every flower
In morning's light and twilight's hour
I hear Your name in birds that sin,
Yet cannot find my dark-blue King

The Yamuna flows with gentle grace
Reflecting memories of Your face
Each wave seems softly to proclaim,

He is the same beloved adored soul

The peacock dances in the rain
Awakening love and sweetened pain.
For every feather, every hue
Reminds my longing heart of You

O Gopala, keeper of my soul
Without Your glance I am not whole
The world may offer wealth and fame
Yet all is empty without Your name.

At night I gaze upon the sky
And ask each star as it drifts by
Have you beheld my Krishna dear?
Please tell Him that I wait Him here

My eyes grow tired along the way
Still I whisper, pray, and pray
For even if You seem afar for me yet
I know You dwell where devotees are

So let me yearn till life's last breath
Through every joy and every test
For the sweetest treasure I can see
Is longing, Lord, that leads to Thee
