“Coming together is a beginning, staying together is progress, and working together is success.”  - Henry Ford

The Bharatanatyam Arangetram of Prateeksha Nidasesi and Tanmayee Patil performed on June 27, 2026, at the Keefe Technical High School auditorium in Framingham, MA, was a striking example that stood up to the above quote. An arangetram is the culmination of years of dedicated training, discipline, and devotion, symbolizing a student's readiness to perform independently as a classical Bharatanatyam dancer.

Both students have trained under the dedicated guidance of Guru Smt. Jeyanthi Ghatraju, at Natyanjali, whose unwavering commitment to preserving and imparting the rich traditions of Bharatanatyam has inspired numerous students. Through her expert guidance, Prateeksha and Tanmayee have developed strong technical skills, expressive artistry, and a deep appreciation for Indian classical dance.

As the guru mentioned in her introduction, every arangetram is a learning, in this case, it was about the “hybrid” mode of teaching and learning as Prateeksha lives in Dallas, TX and guru Jeyanthi and Tanmayee live in MA.

The Arangetram program showcased the richness and beauty of Bharatanatyam through a carefully curated repertoire featuring traditional items that highlighted rhythm, grace, storytelling, and expressive abhinaya. Accompanied by a talented live orchestra, consisting of Smt Jeyanthi Ghatraju (nattuvangam), Smt Harini Darbha (Vocal, Sri Prakash Rao (mridangam), Dr Bhavani Prakash (Flute) and Sri Pranav Swaroop Bettagere (Violin), the performance captivated the audience and reflected the years of hard work, discipline, and commitment invested by both dancers.

Prateeksha Nidasesi recently completed her sophomore year (10th grade) at Prosper ISD in Texas and will begin her junior year this fall. She began learning Bharatanatyam at the age of six and has nurtured her passion through years of sincere practice and perseverance. Beyond dance, Prateeksha enjoys music, creative activities, academics, and actively volunteers with nonprofit organizations, including Vision-Aid.

Tanmayee Patil recently graduated from Hopkinton High School, Massachusetts, and will begin college this fall, pursuing a degree in Business Finance at UConn. She has trained in Bharatanatyam for several years under Guru Smt. Jeyanthi Ghatraju and has demonstrated remarkable dedication and artistic growth throughout her journey. In addition to dance, Tanmayee enjoys music, academics, and community service, volunteering with organizations such as Vision-Aid and Samarthanam.

The families of Prateeksha and Tanmayee express their heartfelt gratitude to Guru Smt. Jeyanthi Ghatraju for her exceptional guidance, encouragement, and mentorship throughout this journey. They also extend their sincere appreciation to the accompanying musicians, family members, friends, volunteers, and the entire community for their blessings, encouragement, and unwavering support in making this memorable occasion a grand success.

The arangetram stands not only as a celebration of artistic excellence but also as a testament to the perseverance, cultural heritage, and dedication of these young dancers. As Prateeksha and Tanmayee embark on the next chapter of their academic and artistic journeys, they carry forward the timeless traditions and values of Bharatanatyam with pride and gratitude.
