Father's Day without You My Dad

Father's Day arrives once more
A day of memories I can't ignore
Though years have passed since you went away
I think of you every single day

I miss your voice, your gentle smile
The way you would sit and talk awhile
The strength and calmness you carried
Still guides me in the things I do

When life is hard and skies are gray
I hear your thoughts and wisdom

The lessons taught by word and deed
Remain as precious treasures that I need.

I wish I could sit by your side today
Share my joys and hear what you say
‘Keep moving forward, do your best’
The simple words I loved the best

Time may soften my sorrow's pain
But love like yours will still remain
Not in photographs alone and feelings
But in the values I have follow in life

Though Heaven keeps you far from sight
Your love still shines as a guiding light
And on this Father's Day,  I pray humbly
To thank you for walking beside me, every day.

You may be gone from this earthly shore
But in my heart, you will live forevermore

Your incredible memory blooms in all I do
And every cherished thought leads back to you
