Father’s Day Special Recipe: Paneer Butter Masala

A creamy, mildly spiced North Indian dish that feels festive and indulgent—perfect to treat your dad at home. Paneer Butter Masala represents warmth, indulgence, and celebration—just like the role of a father in Indian families: strong yet comforting. Serve hot with Butter naan or roti, Jeera rice, A simple salad.

 

Ingredients

Text Box:  For Paneer:

  • 200 g paneer (cubed)
  • Warm water (for soaking paneer)

For Gravy:

  • 2 tbsp butter
  • 1 tbsp oil
  • 2 medium onions (finely chopped)
  • 3 medium tomatoes (pureed)
  • 1 tbsp ginger-garlic paste
  • 10–12 cashews (soaked & ground)
  • 1 tsp red chili powder
  • ½ tsp turmeric powder
  • 1 tsp garam masala
  • 1 tsp coriander powder
  • 1 tsp sugar (optional)
  • Salt (to taste)
  • ½ cup fresh cream
  • Fresh coriander leaves (for garnish)

 

Instructions

  1. Prep the Paneer
    Soak paneer cubes in warm water for 10 minutes to keep them soft.
  2. Cook the Base
    Heat butter and oil in a pan. Add chopped onions and sauté until golden.
    Add ginger-garlic paste and cook for 1 minute.
  3. Add Tomato & Spices
    Pour in tomato puree. Cook until oil starts separating.
    Add turmeric, red chili powder, coriander powder, and salt.
  4. Make it Rich
    Add cashew paste and cook for 2–3 minutes.
  5. Add Paneer
    Drain paneer and add to gravy. Mix gently.
  6. Finish with Cream
    Add fresh cream, garam masala, and a pinch of sugar. Simmer for 3–5 minutes.
  7. Garnish & Serve
    Garnish with coriander leaves and a drizzle of cream.
