Global Peace Secretariat awards AAGPBL special citation for promoting global peace through Baseball for America250

Global Peace Secretariat presented the All American Girls Professional Baseball League (AAGPBL) with a special citation on May 30th 2026,  for promoting global peace by playing baseball, an all American favorite pastime during WWII when all  men were drafted into the military.

AAGPBL (1943-1945) , founded by Chicago Cubs owner Philip K. Wrigley, is a league of women baseball players playing their first game on May 30th. These iconic legends, about 20 of them still with us, now in their 80's and 90's are still a tremendous inspiration to women and girls every where. The Tom Hanks movie "League Of Their Own " was about AAGPBL players.

"As we mark America & MA' s 250th , it was an honor and privilege for me to help my friend Mary Pratt of Quincy MA, member of AAGPBL'S Rockford Peaches team , celebrate her 100th birthday in 2018 with the Red Sox, MLB and the White House." ..... Secretary General Kumu Gupta.

* Kumu Gupta sang the American National Anthem at a Giants ( CA) baseball game, with her name in the National Baseball Hall of Fame, National Anthem file ( Cooperstown, N.Y.) and is  recipient of AAGPBL's plaque for helping mark their 75 th Anniversary and citation for continuing efforts promoting women in baseball.
