Off Kendrik: Voices 2026

Press Release
05/28/2026

Off Kendrik is delighted to bring Voices 2026 to the greater Boston area. Launched in 2016, this true-story telling show (in the tradition of The Moth)

presents true stories about South Asian immigrant experiences every other year and on June 5th it will be held at Waltham's historic Charles River Museum of industry where the very foundations of this new land were laid by the immigrants of the time. Our show this year has two distinct segments.

In the first segment, seven tellers will cover a wide range of experiences that explore what it means to be an immigrant from South Asia. Stories of cultural isolation and redemption, living a 3rd culture (as a 2nd generation Indian-American) will land alongside more universal themes (with an immigrant perspective) like the perpetual search for identity, inherited trauma and helplessness, to finding liberation as a woman (amongst others).

Our speakers in this segment are:

Meenakshi Garodia, Shoham Bhadra, Hamida Merchant, Nidhi Lal, Rajesh Mirchandani, Pooja Saraff and Chetan Tiwari.

Our second segment is called "Voices of Iranian Immigrants". As violence unfolds on the world stage and people suffer, we will try to continue our work of hearing stories that help us understand the experiences of people who are affected. Off Kendrik's Voices 2026 will do this by offering the stage to immigrants who must watch from afar as their country of origin gets engulfed in strife. We shall feature a short panel moderated by Sankha Bhowmick with Amir, Elle and Mazdak who immigrated to the US from Iran about 20 years ago to hear their memories and feelings about their close ones back home.
