Ekal Vidyalaya Foundation of USA proudly announced the inauguration of its New Hampshire chapter, marking a significant milestone as the organization’s 61st chapter across the United States and the second in the New England region.

Ekal Vidyalaya is one of the largest grassroots movements for education in rural and tribal India, dedicated to holistic village development through one-teacher schools. Its initiatives span basic education, digital literacy, vocational skills, and healthcare awareness, empowering underserved communities and fostering self-reliance. Remarkably, it costs just $500 per year—less than $10 a week—to support an entire school, making it one of the most cost-effective models of grassroots impact, supported by very low administrative overheads.

The inaugural event was a vibrant and inspiring gathering of community members, volunteers, and supporters. It began on a soulful note with a beautiful invocation by young Myra, who rendered Sangachadwam, setting the tone of unity and collective purpose for the afternoon.

Executive Director Manisha Jain opened the program by welcoming Regional President Parveen Minocha, who shared Ekal’s mission and vision before formally launching the New Hampshire chapter. Parveen then introduced the New Hampshire leadership team.

The chapter will be led by Aarti Khurana as President and Rakhi Grover Nagpal as Vice President and Youth Coordinator—two dynamic leaders deeply committed to community service and social impact. Notably, this was the very first event led by Aarti and Rakhi, and it was already a resounding success, reflecting their leadership, passion, and strong community connect.

In her remarks, Manisha Jain reflected on the meaningful connections that shape purposeful journeys. She expressed gratitude for Aarti and Rakhi’s leadership, highlighting how compassion, service, and community are intrinsic to who they are, and how their journey naturally aligns with Ekal’s mission of bringing education, skill development, and healthcare to rural India.

Aarti and Rakhi also invited local community leaders to collaborate in furthering Ekal’s mission. Their call was met with immediate enthusiasm, with leaders from IAGB (India Association of Greater Boston) and IANH (India Association of New Hampshire) stepping forward to offer their support—an encouraging sign of strong partnerships ahead.

The event was attended by several local community leaders and supporters, underscoring robust regional backing for the initiative. Guests also enjoyed a warm and convivial lunch, adding to the sense of community and shared purpose.

The program featured special addresses by long-time donor Sudhir Parikh, whose generous annual contribution of $11,000 continues to support Ekal’s initiatives, and Archana Dubey, a dedicated supporter and event sponsor. Ranjani Saigal, former Executive Director of Ekal Vidyalaya Foundation of USA, delivered an inspiring talk reflecting on her journey with the organization and its transformative impact over the years.

The event concluded with motivating remarks by Ram Nehra, Founder of Ekal New England, who inspired the team and attendees to carry forward the mission with renewed passion and commitment.

The launch of the New Hampshire chapter represents not just geographic expansion, but a deepening of Ekal’s vision—to bring light into every village through education and community empowerment.
