SETU held the premier for the play 'Hindu Vivekananda' on Friday March 6, 2026 at the Mosesian Center for the Arts, Watertown, MA.
Human Vivekananda is a play about Swami Vivekananda, the Indian monk who introduced Yoga and Indian spiritual philosophy to the West. He was born as Narendranath Datta in Calcutta on January 12, 1863. This play primarily explores the most eventful phases of his life, which spanned only 39 years, a significant portion of which was spent in India. It captures his early struggles, his transformative spiritual relationship with Sri Ramakrishna, his arduous journey to the World's Parliament of Religion in Chicago in 1893, and his spiritual relationship with many Western women disciples, as well as with numerous philosophers and scientists.
