Kumu Gupta to Judge Spring Calvin Coolidge Presidential Foundation Online Debate
Miss Kumu Gupta will be a Judge in the Calvin Coolidge Presidential Foundation's Annual Spring Online debate on Saturday March 21st 2026.
The topic for the debate is "Resolved: The United States federal government should repeal the Wagner Act." The Wagner Act , or National Labor Relations Act 1935, is a landmark U.S. law guaranteeing private-sector employees the right to form unions. The tournament will have three divisions: Middle School, High School Novice, and High School Open/Varsity. The top four finishers in the Open/Varsity division will each receive an invitation and paid travel to the 2026 Coolidge Cup, which is a national invitational speech and debate Tournament sponsored by the Calvin Coolidge Presidential Foundation and held in President Coolidge's historic hometown of Plymouth, Vermont, on July 2-4, 2026.
The Calvin Coolidge Presidential Foundation based in Plymouth Notch, Vermont and Washington, D.C., is the official foundation dedicated to preserving the legacy and advancing the values of America's thirtieth President Calvin Coolidge. And was formed by John Coolidge, President Coolidge's son in 1960.
The sudden death of President Harding in 1923, saw then Governor Coolidge being sworn in by his father John, a notary public by kerosene light.
