Echoes of Kashmir: Commemorating Kashmiri Hindu Exodus Day

Please join us for a Webinar on Monday, January 19, 2026

TIME: 10:30 AM EST (USA and Canada) / 9:00 PM IST (India Time)

Exodus Day:

The years 1989/1990 saw the beginning of ethnic cleansing and genocide in Kashmir Valley. Thirty-six years ago on January 19, 1990, Kashmiri Hindus were given eviction notice by the Muslim community & the Islamic terrorists. It was the day when the threat to convert, die or run away replaced the sounds of morning Azaan from all mosques in the Valley. People recall the horror of waking up to hear this command. Over half a million innocent Hindus had to abandon their homes and belongings as they headed to safer areas outside of Kashmir. Kashmiri Pandits/Hindus were made homeless overnight and have become refugees in their own country.

‪The targeting of Kashmiri Hindus by militants that began in 1989 still continues. January 19th reminds us of the genocide of Kashmiri Hindus, how they were killed in most cold-blooded fashion, their ethnic cleansing, and their mass exodus from Kashmir valley. Over the years, Kashmiri Hindus have been moving from pillar to post, demanding their fundamental rights and struggling to survive and maintain their culture & heritage. Please join and support us in our struggle of survival and settlement.

Panelists: Dr. Ajay Chrungoo (Chairman, Panun Kashmir)

Sh. Sanjay Kaul (Joint General Secretary, World Hindu Council of America)
