OM Shanti is an Entry for 2026 Pulitzer Prize Music Award

OM Shanti, song written and sung (Acapella style) by Miss Kumu Gupta on global peace is a candidate for the prestigious Pulitzer Prize,  in the Music category for 2026. The winners are expected to be announced later this year.

OM Shanti, in an AI generated music version, was debuted by Secretary General Kumu Gupta  earlier on in October 2025 for Global Peace Secretariat' s 3rd Anniversary. And is an entry for Grammy Awards Best Song For Social Change 2026 , winners to be announced in February Live from Los Angeles. 

Miss Gupta has been a candidate for the Pulitzer Prize in Journalism earlier,  as Brand Ambassador for Times of India, their 1st in US and 4th internationally and Contributor to various newspapers on  local, national and international levels. And was an invited guest to mark 100 th Anniversary of the Pulitzer Prize at Harvard University.

Pulitzer Prizes are a set of 23 annual awards that recognize excellence in American journalism, literature, and musical composition. Established in 1917 by newspaper publisher Joseph Pulitzer, the awards are considered the highest national honor in these fields. Columbia University administers the awards based on the Pulitzer Prize Board's recommendations. The Pulitzer Prize in Music is awarded for distinguished musical composition by an American that has had its first performance or recording in the United States during the year.
