Whispers of Winter

Frosty mornings, silver and bright
The earth wrapped softly in sparkling white
Crisp air whispers through bare, quiet trees
Dancing lightly on a chilly breeze with a smile

Smoke curls gently from chimneys high
Warmth and laughter drift to the sky
Shawls and mittens, boots on the ground
Footprints trace a silent sound and print

Icicles glitter like crystal artifact light
Long, quiet days turn into cold cozy night
Hot cocoa warms our fingertips and rosy lips
Frosted windows and doors stand still

Winter’s magic, calm and deep everywhere
Lulls the world in a snowy sleep for sure
Yet in the cold, life softly glows as always
Beneath the ice, the rivers flow to the seas
