Global Peace Secretariat launches "Joyful Talisman" free course for International Day of Girl Child 

 

On occasion of the International Day of Girl Child October 11th, Global Peace Secretariat launches a free course " Joyful Talisman"  for community leaders and all individuals who wish to work for positive change in the society promoting Human Values for Individual Transformation and Peaceful Coexistence.

 

The Joyful Talisman approach to promote human values for happiness and joy has been developed by two Gandhian scholars and practitioners, Dr. Vedabhyas Kundu and Munazah Shah. Through the pillars of Joyful Talisman, they emphasize the transformative quality of joy as a means to cultivate inner peace. This in turn contributes to peaceful co-existence and social harmony. 

 

Registration for the course, taught virtually from India, begins October 24th 2025, 80th Anniversary of the U.N. .

 

Course Details 

 

Duration of the Course: 8 Weeks

Registration starts: October 24, 2025

Registration process ends: November 14, 2025

Formation of Groups of Participants: November 21, 2025 

Launch of the Course: December 5, 2025 International Day of Volunteers

Course will be held every Saturday 11 am EST

Duration of each session: One Hour

 

Participants will get a certificate from the Global Peace Secretariat.

Dr .Vedabhyas Kundu is a Senior Gandhian & Peace scholar and practitioner. His areas of expertise are nonviolent communication, nonviolent conflict resolution, media and information literacy, and human values. He conducts workshops and courses in these areas of expertise for participants around the world. Ms. Munazah Shah is a broadcast journalist, a scholar and practitioner of Gandhian philosophy and a life coach. She conducts workshops in nonviolent communication, and conflict de-escalation. She mentors young people in practicing human values for inner transformation.  Both their works have been translated into different Indian dialects and taught globally in various languages.

 

* 2025 marks the 10th Anniversary of W20, G20's  gender advisory group on women's economic empowerment.
