ISW Lights Up Massachusetts with a Series of Diwali Celebrations

This fall, Massachusetts will sparkle as the Festival of Lights takes center stage. Diwali, celebrated by millions around the world, marks the triumph of light over darkness and good over evil. Known for its dazzling lights, colors, music, dance, and delicious food, the festival brings families and communities together in a spirit of joy, renewal, and togetherness.

The India Society of Worcester (ISW) is set to illuminate the season with a spectacular lineup of Diwali festivities across Central Massachusetts and Boston. From Westborough to downtown Boston, Worcester, Marlborough, Shrewsbury, and Boylston, ISW is bringing the magic of India’s most beloved festival to communities across the region.

Diwali Celebration in Westborough

Tuesday, October 7, 2025 • 5:00 – 7:30 PM

Post 22, 1300 Union Street, Suite 201, Westborough, MA

Hosted in partnership with Westborough Connects and Post 22, this family-friendly evening will feature music, dance performances, fun activities, and light refreshments. All are invited to stop by, connect with neighbors, and experience the joy of the Festival of Lights.

Diwali (Festival of Lights) in Boston

Saturday, October 11, 2025 • 5:00 – 9:00 PM

Faneuil Hall Marketplace, Boston, MA

ISW brings Diwali to the heart of Boston with its first-ever downtown celebration. This free event promises vibrant Dhol Tasha Lezim drumming, dazzling Rangoli art, festive decorations, and traditional Diwali dances performed by talented community groups. Open to all ages, this milestone celebration invites Bostonians and visitors alike to share in India’s colors, lights, and cultural rhythms.

Diwali Lakshmi Puja

India Center, 152 Main Street, Shrewsbury, MA

The Diwali season continues with a traditional Lakshmi Puja, honoring the goddess of wealth and prosperity. Community members are invited to gather for prayers, blessings, and an evening of devotion and togetherness at ISW’s India Center.

Diwali at Worcester Art Museum

Diwali Lights at Tower Hill

New England Botanic Garden at Tower Hill, Boylston, MA

The season concludes with a dazzling finale as ISW partners with the New England Botanic Garden for the opening night of Night Lights. Stroll through gardens aglow with hundreds of lights, enjoy cultural performances, savor Indian cuisine, and shop at an ethnic bazaar featuring henna art and Diwali crafts.
