Global Peace Secretariat Procalmation For October 2, 2025

GLOBAL PEACE SECRETARIAT
PROCLAMATION

WHEREAS, October 2nd, 2025 marks the 3rd Anniversary of the Global Peace Secretariat, an institution dedicated to promoting harmony, dialogue, and understanding across nations; and

WHEREAS, the United Nations has designated October 2nd as the International Day of Non-Violence in honor of the birthday of Mahatma Gandhi, whose life and teachings continue to inspire movements for peace and justice worldwide; and

WHEREAS, the City of Boston stands as a global crossroads, home to 51 foreign consulates, reflecting its enduring commitment to international cooperation and cultural exchange; and

WHEREAS, 2025 also marks the 80th Anniversary of the founding of the United Nations, celebrating decades of collective efforts towards peace, human rights, and sustainable development; and

WHEREAS, this year, we also recognize the 250th Anniversary of the United States of America and the Commonwealth of Massachusetts, and

WHEREAS, 2025 marks the 400th Anniversary of the City of Quincy, the birthplace of Founding Father John Adams, whose legacy of leadership and vision continues to shape our nation;;

NOW, THEREFORE, I, Kumu Gupta, Secretary General Global Peace Secretariat, do hereby proclaim October 2nd, 2025 as a day of celebration, reflection, and commitment to the ideals of peace and non-violence, and encourage all residents to honor this occasion by fostering goodwill, mutual respect, and understanding within our community and beyond.

IN WITNESS WHEREOF, I have hereunto set my hand and caused the seal of Global Peace Secretariat to be affixed this 2nd day of October, 2025.
