International Day of Peace Global Peace Secretariat to present Special Citation to Kuwaiti Singer Mubarak Al Rashed for U.N. International Day of Peace celebrated on September 21st, for promoting global peace through his singing of Indian songs in Hindi, Kannada, Konkani and Tulu performing in Kuwait, India and Sri Lanka. “Mr. Mubarak Al Rashed fondly called the “Kishore Kumar of Kuwait” and a Cultural Ambassador bridges cultural gaps bringing together people of Kuwait and India with other countries by singing Indian bollywood, devotional and patriotic songs promoting global peace”....Secretary General Kumu Gupta. Mr. Mubarak Al Rashed has had the honor of singing in front of and mesmerizing P.M. Modi and former Minister of External Affairs Mrs. Sushma Swaraj on their visit to Kuwait. The International Day of Peace was established in 1981 by the United Nations General Assembly. To inaugurate the day, the United Nations Peace Bell is rung at U.N. Headquarters (in New York City). The bell is cast from coins donated by people from all continents except Africa, and was a gift from the United Nations Association of Japan, as "a reminder of the human cost of war". The inscription on its side reads, "Long live absolute world peace". The United Nations marks its 80th Anniversary on October 24 2025. U.N.
