In Memory of My Father

While Shraadh rituals during Pitru Paksha are traditionally meant for deceased ancestors, yet I observe the period to honor my deceased father with everyone in my lineage and pray for their well-being. To remember my ancestors during this time, I honor their lives, deeds, memories, by participating in activities they loved, sharing their stories with siblings and relatives and creating a tribute in their memories.

Anna Ji, your chair now sits still

It is looking unadorned without you

But your presence lingers around

I hear your voice from every side

You travelled beyond my sight but
Your love remains as my infinite light
I remember every sacrifice you made
And every awful pain you took for us

No longer you are here to walk beside
But for sure, you still reside in my heart
Through every hour, through every day
Your guiding light shows me right way

Your grace in every movement of life  
Your courage to face the challenges

Your amazing wisdom in each action
All these still live in me truly and firmly

Your strong hands and kind heart

Each lesson given, each story shared
Thus far stay in me without a sway

And I proudly try to follow them

Your love can never fade away
Though time passes though years force
You truly live in my memories for ever
Forever you are loved and missed by me

Thank you, Anna Ji, for all you have done
Your principles and legacy shine in us
You are missed, yet you always live near us
And we hold on to your memories so dearly
