A Delightful Divine Baby Krishna

Text Box: In the heart of darkness, a special baby was born

Songs of love and melody were dispersing everywhere
From Mathura's depths, a divine power emerges
As auspicious stars and calling of people converge

The chains of demon king Kamsa’s prison fell away

The prison’s heavy strong doors opened without a sound

Father Vasudeva carried both awe and tender devotion

It was the beginning of Krishna Leela in Vraja Bhoomi

Dark clouds wept continuously and lightning excelled
Yamuna River rose with many trembling high waves
Yet every wave bent low in prayer for baby Krishna
And touched the feet the Lord of the Three Worlds

Serpent Adhishesha spreads his hood wide above
Guarding the Lord, the child of love resting in the basket
Baby entered the arms of love when Gokul was in slumber deep

People of Gokul woke up to enjoy cradling Him gently

Charming hearts lighted up every nook and cranny

People danced in Gokul's lanes with playful grace

Baby was illuminating every space stealing butter.
His flute's sweet strains passing along a call to devotion

Krishna, a friend to the Gopis and Radha's beloved
Stirred souls with a tranquil rhythmic motion

He lifted Govardhan hill to protect people from a storm

And promised solace, shining ever so bright

Bhadrapada Janmashtami festival, a celebration joyous
A tribute to Krishna, a divine incarnation of Lord Vishnu
May His love and wisdom, our spirits embrace slowly
Guiding our journey pleasingly through time and space.
