Kumu Gupta 06/06/2025 Global Peace Secretariat adds Maharani Ahilya Bai Holkar to Women's Walk of Fame celebrating her 300th Birth Anniversary Global Peace Secretariat added Maharani Ahilya Bai Holkar to its Women's Walk of Fame marking her 300th birth anniversary on May 31st 2025. Maharani Ahilya Bai Holkar was ruling Queen of Indore within the Maratha Empire. She is famous for her good governance, social welfare and humanitarian work along with religious, educational, and cultural advancements. She contributed to the growth of Indian architecture through the commission of various temples and Ghats. Most of all Queen Holkar is known for Women Empowerment, with importance of women education and skilling in textile work. "Coming from a Suryavanshi royal family on mother's side from Pune India, my grandmother was closely connected to MahaRani Ahilya Bai Holkar's family. Rajmata Ahilya Bai Holkar stood for Women Empowerment and it is a great honor to see her statue on the grounds of newly renovated Kashi Vishwanath Temple, one of her benefactor's in Varanasi, my grandfather's home .".....
