Our Rishis have taught us to respect and nurture Dharti Ma, to care for her and provide for her growth and well-being. We should take from her only what we need. Planting trees, saplings and shrubs are considered one of the sacred duties that man can do, one of the rin's (debts) that he owes Mother Nature.

Om Hindu Community Center is dedicated to furthering the cause of Hindu Dharma and plans to provide an opportunity for all to do their part in protecting our environment. As you know, the Center is situated in a conservation area, with a very delicate ecosystem. We need to maintain that balance.

The Plant A Tree Abhiyan (campaign) will be held on May 31 and June 1, from 10 AM to 4 PM. The goal is to plant over 700 shrubs and bushes in this sensitive area. All plants will be provided. Details are in the flyer attached. Please sign up for a time slot that is convenient for you.  Bring your children, if they plant a shrub or a sapling, it will endear them to Mother Nature, and they can come back to care for their plant.

Please wear comfortable clothes for planting, bring a trowel or a small shovel and be prepared to have fun. Refreshments will be provided.

As always, your donation in whatever amount will help offset the cost of the plants and help the Center.
