What is the NorthSouth Foundation?

The NorthSouth Foundation is a non-profit organization that has been providing educational scholarships in India through competitions and bees. It was founded in 1989 and has provided over 30,000 scholarships for disadvantaged students, helping these individuals in their educational pursuits. NorthSouth has over 75 US chapters working together to encourage and enable students in a variety of subjects, while promoting excellence in education, entrepreneurship, and empathy. 

Massachusetts Chapter Competitions

This year, on April 13, the Worcester Chapter held several competitions in a variety of subjects such as Mathematics, Geography, Science, Spelling, and Essay Writing. The contests were held at Fitchburg State University, with nearly 100 competing students. At the competitions and behind the scenes, a team of dedicated youth and adult volunteers led by the Chapter Director, Shylaja Narayanaswami and Technical Director, Dr. Meledath Govindan ensured that everything ran smoothly.

At the contests, we also offered several informational seminars for parents to attend, including a seminar on Enhancing Learning with Supplementary Study Sources led by Mrs Komal Rastogi, as well as a seminar on Heartful Meditation led by Mrs Jyoti Sharma and Mr. Narendra Sharma. Both of these presentations provided insightful information, and were well appreciated by the parents.
