Press Release 02/06/2025 FIA Marks 76th Republic Day of India with Massive Blood Donation Camp in Partnership with American Red Cross in Massachusetts What Better Way to Mark the 76th Republic Day of Our Beloved Motherland Than by Giving Back to the Community in the Most Impactful Way! On Sunday, January 26, 2025, the Foundation of Indian Americans (FIA) New England marked the 76th Republic Day of India in an extraordinary and impactful manner—by partnering with the American Red Cross to host a blood donation drive that would go on to save countless lives. The event, which took place at American Red Cross office at Plantation Street Worcester from 8 AM to 4 PM, was an inspiring display of community service and solidarity. The blood donation drive saw a remarkable turnout, with approximately four dozen individuals registering to donate blood, coming together in the spirit of giving. “We are grateful to the American Red Cross for giving us this incredible opportunity to serve our community,” said Kaushik Patel, a key organizer of the event. The day kicked off with an emotionally charged moment as attendees stood for both the U.S. and Indian national anthems, a symbolic gesture that highlighted the unity between both nations. The national anthems were sung in harmony, setting the tone for a day of celebration and service. FIA New England President Abhishek Singh, along with his dedicated executive team, took charge in leading this initiative. The team, led by Sanjay Gokhale, Nikhil Wadhwa, Ajaya Papapurthi, Anand Sharma, Jyoti Singh, Rakesh Kumar, Manisha Kumar, Anupma Debroy, Priyanka Wadhwa, Archana & Giriths Soni, Amol Penshanwar, and Santosh Thawani, worked tirelessly to ensure the success of both the blood donation drive and the evening’s Republic Day celebrations. The event wouldn’t have been possible without the selflessness of the “Blood Warriors,” the volunteers who showed up in force to donate and make a real difference. Their participation was pivotal to the success of the blood drive, and their efforts were deeply appreciated. After a successful day of donations, the community gathered for an evening of celebration at The Mercantile, from 5 PM to 10 PM. The celebrations featured live entertainment, cultural performances, and an uplifting sense of pride as everyone came together to honor the Republic Day of India. A heartfelt thank you to The Mercantile for providing a delicious dinner for volunteers and attendees to enjoy after a day of giving back. Special acknowledgments go out to Dr. Charu Patel, Mohan Nannapanni (Founder of TeamAid), philanthropist Sandeep Asija, Nisha & Virendra Baba, Sunaina & Kamal Chauhan (Founder of Ayoti), Geena Virmani (Famous Realtor) and the FIA New England Executive Team for their ongoing support and contributions to the event. This Republic Day event truly embodied the essence of community and compassion, offering a reminder of the significant impact that acts of kindness can have on others. The FIA New England and American Red Cross partnership was a shining example of how to celebrate in a way that makes a lasting difference. As one of the dignitaries remarked, “Donating blood on Republic Day feels like the perfect way to honor both our heritage and our community. It’s such an honor to be part of this cause.” #RepublicDay2025 #FIA_NE #BloodDonation #CommunityImpact #AmericanRedCross #GivingBack #BloodWarriors #CelebrateWithPurpose #UnityInDiversity ![]() You may also access this article through our web-site http://www.lokvani.com/ |
