Indian Language Videos For Toddlers

Research shows that majority of language development occurs in the early years (0 - 5 ). Children if exposed early enough have the capability to learn multiple languages at the same time, as well as speak them with a native pronunciation. Baby Hindustani is a collection of videos that is aimed at teaching Indian languages to toddlers. The purpose of this video is to expose a child to a language as well as help parents create a language rich environment at home, which is essential during the formative years. This video teaches young children basic vocabulary, colors, numbers (with lots of counting) through everyday objects and bright visuals.

Ruchira Agarwal who is the creator of the Baby Hindustani series has designed the video such that it provides both entertainment as well as educational value. “For best results, it would be good if a parent could sit with the child the first few times, point to objects and repeat the words. Afterwards the children will want to watch this again and again” says Ruchira.

The words chosen are those that a child sees, uses and hears his parents say on a daily basis - basically words from a child's natural environment. “Children can comprehend and relate to simple words more easily.  Using simple words and bright visuals helps make a positive impact on a child's mind - since visual stimulus is very important at this age. I also tried to pick animals and objects that appeal to small children, like butterfly, rabbit, duck, moon, stars” says Agarwal
