Red Sox - Curse Reversed!

Under a total Lunar Eclipse on Wednesday, October 28  in St. Louis the Boston Red Sox reversed the legendary curse of the Bambino to complete a four-game sweep of the Cardinals winning their first World Series title since 1918.

When Sox owner Harry Frazee made a the biggest boo boo in Baseball history and sold a young Babe Ruth to the Yankees, little did he know of the consequences of his actions!

To millions of Red Sox fans, the end of the drought could not have been sweeter.

Johnny Damon homered on the fourth pitch of the game, Derek Lowe made it stand up and the Red Sox won 3-0 Wednesday night. Edgar Renteria grounded out for the final out, wrapping up a Series in which the Red Sox never trailed.

After winning the 1918 World Series, the Red Sox lost the series in the final game in 1946, 1967, 1975 and 1986. In 1978, Boston completed a monumental regular-season collapse with a loss to the Yankees in a one-game playoff.

Sweeping away decades of defeat with four sweet swings. Red Sox staged the greatest comeback of all times shaming the New York Yankees, the Evil Empire to the south.

T -Shirts, hats, pins and other memorablia flew off the store shelves last week as grateful fans prepared to line the streets for the welcome home parade wound from Fenway Park, past Boston Common and City Hall and onto the Charles River, with the Red Sox players riding 17 of the amphibious vehicles known since World War II as "ducks."

"I still can't believe we won" , gushed a fan " A week after I am still pinching myself to accept the fact!"

On that fateful night, looking at a moon eclipsed, it seemed as though Babe himself was winking, saying "Go Red Sox, reverse the curse!"
