by Madhumati Tyagi

Ram Prasad/Prasadam is a sacred food offering  and is distributed to devotees after being offered to the deity in a temple. Here is a simple recipe for making a basic Prasad, commonly offered in temples. Keep in mind that specific recipes can vary based on regional traditions and customs.

Text Box: Ingredients:

  1. 1 cup Wheat Flour
  2. 1/4 cup ghee
  3. 3/4 cup powdered sugar/ grated Jaggery
  4. 1/2 tsp cardamom powder
  5. 1/4 cup chopped nuts(I used almonds and cashews)

Method

  1. Heat ghee in a thick-bottomed pan.
  2. Add the wheat flour and cook on medium heat stirring continuously till you get a nice rich brown color.
  3. When flour is about to be roasted add chopped nuts so that they will also be roasted.
  4. Cool down completely.
  5. Add cardamom powder and sugar powder/grated Jaggery.
  6. Mix everything together.
  7. Once it cools down, add Tulsi leaf before offering to God and then serve it others as Prasadam.
