On Sunday, Feb 25, Sangeeta and Sanjay Saxena led the Saraswathi Puja celebration with a Deep Yagna done in the Gayatri Pariwar tradition. The event was conducted at the Satsang Center in Woburn.  Vasant Parva is of special significance to Gayatri Pariwar in many ways. They have been celebrating it as the Foundation Day of the Mission. This is the holy day of Self-realization by the founder Guru Satta Poojya Pandit Sriram Sharma Acharya, which happened  on Vasant Parva of 1926. The Akhand Deepak (source of inspiration to millions) was lit  on this very auspicious day in the year 1926. Since then it has been kept lighted uninterruptedly. All the plans and decisions of our Mission are made in the light of this Symbolic Lamp of Enlightenment. Yugrishi took an oath of performing 24 years of Gayatri Mahapurushcharan on the instruction of his great Guide on this day.

Sanjay ji and Sangeeta ji lead the Shodashopachara puja for  Saraswathi Devi. She is the goddess of learning and the arts. It is believed she descended on Earth on Vasant Panchami. Spring is a time of new beginnings and celebrating knowledge is appropriate at this time.

The Saxena’s gave valuable spiritual guidance and interspersed the Puja with Bhajans. Swami Saxena provided accompaniment on the Tabla while Nidhi provided vocal support. The event ended with the lighting of several beautiful lamps.

Devotees were given Maha Prasad that was prepared by the volunteers at Satsang Center. The event is a grand success each year filling the attendees with wisdom and joy.
