Part 7 - Amma's Daily Rangolis
by Geetha Patil

This one is very easy to do even for a beginner. In this Rangoli, dots are being used to draw the motifs of peacocks and flowers. You can use different colored lines makes this stand out from the rest. In addition, the peacock motif in this Rangoli is unique.

My mother used to explain to me the authentic method of joining dots to create beautiful Rangolis. She personally loved the floral Rangoli designs with different birds and animals. I noticed that on special and festival days, she used to create very large floral Rangolis with many peacocks or parrots, tortoise, or deer seemed to be her popular choice in Rangoli designs. My deduction is that the vibrant colors and the dancing peacocks or birds depict so many mudras and meanings.
