Violin Arangetram: Praneel Kumar Murali

The violin arangetram of Praneel Kumar Murali, a student of Guru Smt. Vidya Raman, was a great ice breaker. Praneel played nine songs from different composers in different ragas and thalams. The main piece of the evening’s recital was Bhavanuta in ragam mohanam, composed by saint Thyagaraja in Adi Thaalam. Praneel showcased his talent by playing the kalpana swarams in chatusram and thisram leading to korrappu in kandam.

Arangetram: Sayontika Battacharya And Annette Varghese

After more than a decade of extensive training and preparation under Guru Smt. Jayshree Bala Rajamani, the day that Sayontika and Annette ascend the stage arrived. With Sayontika being a Bengali Hindu and Annette being a Malayali Christian, this Arangetram was a dedication to this ultimate concept, especially through three of their dances: the Mallari, the Murase Varnam, and the Krishna Yesu Padam, all specially composed by Vidushi Sudha Raghuraman of Delhi, India, for this particular occasion.
