Chinmaya Mission Boston’s Bala Vihar Program

Hari Om!

The flagship Bala Vihar program at Chinmaya Mission Boston is all set to commence on Sunday, September 10th for the 2023-24 school year. In-person Sunday classes will be offered at all 4 locations – Andover, Westboro, Newton and Seacoast, NH. Bala Vihar provides a comprehensive and enriching experience for children as young as 3 years old all the way to 12th graders.

The aim of the Bala Vihar program (which is in its 70th year!) is to help children bloom and grow, while inculcating values based on Sanatana Dharma, through inspiring and thought-provoking stories and fun-filled activities. Bala Vihar education develops the overall personality of a child in the physical, emotional, intellectual and spiritual dimensions, while also providing them a good understanding of our Indian heritage.

In addition to Bala Vihar, Chinmaya Mission Boston offers classes in several Indian languages at various levels of expertise. Samskritam, Hindi, Tamil, Telugu, Kannada, Gujarati, Malayalam are some of the languages being taught. Shloka and bhajan classes are offered to children and adults. Finally, Satsangs which facilitate scriptural study are conducted every Sunday for adults with varying exposure to Vedantic texts.

Registration is in full swing for 2023-24! For more information, please visit chinmaya-

Amruta Vihar

Chinmaya Mission Boston is extremely pleased to continue with the Amruta Vihar program after two successful years. Amruta Vihar caters to the curiosity and spiritual growth and learning of children with intellectual, cognitive, behavioral, and other developmental disabilities. Classes are taught online on Saturdays by teachers who are BCBA certified and/or appropriately trained.
Stories about various forms of God with plenty of visual aids, simple shlokas and bhajans, yoga postures and meditation are taught at an appropriate pace. Participation by children is encouraged to the extent that they are comfortable.

The Amruta Vihar program has been extremely well received by families who have participated over the last couple of years. For additional information or if you would like to register your child for this program, please email amrutavihar@chinmaya-
boston.org. In addition, please spread the word to families who might benefit from this unique program!
