Gargi Samadar

Gargi Samadar is a versatile Hindustani Classical Vocal artist, who specializes in Khayal, Thumri, and Ghazal genres. An All-India Radio (AIR) and television artist, Gargi comes from a strong lineage of Kirana Gharana. A former scholar of the prestigious ITC Sangeet Research Academy Kolkata, Gargi has trained with noted exponents: late Pandit Biresh Roy, late Pandit Arun Bhaduri, and Shri Aurobindo Chakraborty. Gargi has widened her expertise by studying Ghazal with internationally acclaimed maestro Ustad Sabir Khan. Gargi is a Gold Medalist with a Master’s degree M (Music) from Rabindra Bharati University. She has performed in several prestigious musical concerts in India and the US.


Kaustuv Kanti Ganguli

Initiated into music at an age of 4 through his grandfather Late Phanindra Mohan Ganguli, Kaustuv continued his musical training since the age of 7 with vocal maestro Pt. Ajoy Chakrabarty, first at his institution Shrutinandan and later as a scholar at ITC Sangeet Research Academy, Kolkata. Kaustuv has been performing in various cities of India as well as abroad since the age of 12 in prestigious concerts such as the Dover Lane Music Conference (Kolkata), Arohee, Gharana GenNext, and Sur Sagar by Pancham Nishad, Suburban Music Circle (Mumbai), Art Music of India Festival (Barcelona, Spain), Swarmangesh, Serendipity Arts Festival (Goa), and recently a series of online concerts to name a few. After receiving PhD at the Indian Institute of Technology Bombay and Postdoc at the New York University Abu Dhabi, Kaustuv has joined Zayed University, UAE as an Associate Professor in Computational Systems. His research interest includes artificial intelligence in music, with a focus on computational musicology.

 

Rajesh Pai

Rajesh Pai started learning the Tabla in Udupi, Karnataka at a very young age and received formal training under his Gurus Shri Shrihari Marate and Shri Vittaldas Bhat for over ten years. A versatile Tabla artist and instructor in the New England Area, Rajesh has performed with many forms of Hindustani and Carnatic classical music genres such as instrumental music, Ghazal, Thumri, Dadra, Bhajans, semi-classical. He has accompanied several well-known artists including Pt. Sandip Ghosh (vocal), Ustad Iqbal Ahmed Khan of Delhi Gharana, Ustad Rais Bale Khan and Ustad Hafiz Bale Khan (sitar duo from Dharwad), Vidushi Padmini Rao (senior most disciple of Dr. Prabha Atre), Vidushi Sangeetha Katti, Pt. Jayathirth Mevundi, Pt. Ravindra Katoti (harmonium), Shri Suhail Yusuf Khan (Sarangi), and the popular singing saint from Karnataka Sri Vidyabhushana. Rajesh is an IT Consultant by profession and is an editor for Boston's Kannada Koota.

 

Hirak Modi

Hirak Modi has been playing harmonium since the age of eight. He studied Hindustani Classical music with Shri Bhavesh Janiin in Mumbai, and was awarded the Sangeet Vishrad degree (Bachelor of Music) in 2013. He has performed at several musical events in Mumbai as well as in the Boston area. He is currently working as a software engineer at MathWorks.

 

Yogesh Karale

Yogesh started his musical journey at a young age learning Tabla from his father. After completing his Tabla Visharad degree from Akhil Bhartiya Gandharva Mahavidyalaya Mandal, Yogesh received advanced training in Tabla under the Late Pt. Sadashiv Pawar, a renowned Tabla player of the Farukhabad Gharana. During his intense training for 12 years in “Guru-Shishya Parampara”, Yogesh learnt the various aspects of Tabla through rigorous riyaaz under his Guru Pt. Pawar evolving into a successful Tabla player of the Farukhabad gharana. He has won prizes in many Tabla competitions including national level competition in India. Yogesh has performed many solo concerts, and has accompanied eminent vocal and instrumental musicians.
