Press Release
04/25/2023

Unravelling Ramayana and Mahabharata: An interactive 2-part series with Ami Ganatra

Part 1: Saturday, May 6, 3-5 pm: Introduction To Indian Epics - Ami Ganatra will give an introduction to the great Indian epics, Ramayana and Mahabharata. This will be an excellent opportunity to get a primer about India’s ItihaÌ„sa (history) and Hindu culture.

Part 2: Sunday, May 7, 3-5 pm: Unravelling Ramayana & Mahabharata - Are these epics relevant today? What lessons can we learn from them? Were women and the lesser privileged treated fairly? Get answers to these and other questions, accusations, myths and confusions about these epics from an authority on Valmiki Ramayana and Vyas Mahabharata. Ami is a well acclaimed author of two books that unravell the original texts as written by Maharishi Valmiki and Maharishi Vyas.

Students are especially encouraged to attend and come with questions as are adults! There is no bad question as long as the intent is good i.e. to learn and understand.

About the author:

Ami Ganatra is the author of 2 bestselling books on Itihāsa: Mahabharata Unravelled and Ramayana Unravelled. An IIMA alumni, she is also a devout yoga practitioner, a certified yoga instructor, and a student of Saṃskrit and Indian knowledge systems. Her books Mahabharata Unraveled and Ramayana Unraveled, are not retellings or imaginations, but a well researched attempt to go back to the original itihāsa and present the story, learnings and nuances for what they are, and make the epics accessible to all.
