Book author and poetess Parveen Minocha launched her Hindi poetry book “Chumbak” for children on March 25th at the historic Town House Hall in Andover, MA.  Colorful and lively illustrations for Chumbak are curated by Sadaf Ameer and the book was printed by Neelam Wali in Billerica, MA. The book launch event was well attended and celebrated by the Boston Community who not only welcomed but promoted the newly established author with all heart.

“Chumbak”, a Hindi poetry book for kids, focuses on 4 core themes: focus on relationships, imparting values early on, arousing curiosity and a play-way method of learning. From memories with grandparents to balloons, shadows and trains, the book brings together a collection of short poetries for children. Ms. Minocha iterated the importance of brain development in early childhood years, the motivation and theme behind the book. Remembering her own father’s educational journey from a single teacher school, she dedicated the launch event proceeds to Ekal Vidyalaya, a non-profit organization bringing education and holistic development to rural India.

The book has received great reviews from across the globe. Bollywood star and philanthropist, Vivek Oberoi congratulated Parveen Minocha on her commendable work while Boston Poetess and Filmmaker, Sunayana Kachroo appreciated the simple but deep take on a variety of subjects touched by Parveen. Dr. Subra Dravida, VP at Qualcomm and Ekal USA President quoted Bhagvad Gita on the subtle way of communicating the ‘Call to Action’ with the poem ‘Phool aur Titlee’. Ekal Exec Director, Ms. Ranjani Saigal, said it is not trivial to use simple yet meaningful content that kids can absorb and Ms. Minocha’s work does justice in that regard. Ms. Minocha also mentioned that she had the opportunity to share the book with Oscar award winner lyricist, Chandrabose, who offered his blessings and greetings on the book launch.

This event was one of the first ones under the banner of Noetic Nook (see www.noeticnook.com), Ms Minocha’s creative writing and publishing company. The vision of Noetic Nook is to bring out the harmony between Hindi and English for coming generations. ‘Hindi ki Bindi’, ‘The Arctic Cold’ are among the well received poems under this banner. “Madhuban”, a book on mesmerizing animals and birds, is the other bilingual publication coming soon.

“Chumbak” which means “magnet” is very aptly titled as the book promises to appeal to the kids around you or the “kid” in you! You can order your copy at: https://bit.ly/orderChumbak
