Shri Gajanan Maharaj PranaPratishtapana at Shri Dwarkamai Sai Baba Temple

Shri Dwarkamai Sai Baba temple in Billerica and Shri Gajanan Maharaj Bhakt Pariwar, Boston are inviting all the devotees to participate in Shri Gajanan Maharaj Pranapratishtapana Event at the temple on the auspicious Muhurtam of Akshaya Tritiya, Saturday, April 22, 2023. The grand Pranapratishtapana event is a welcome celebration of life-size murti of Shri Gajanan Maharaj in the temple premises. Shri Gajanan Maharaj Bhakt Pariwar, Boston has been organizing regular Satsang, Upasana, Pragat Din, Samadhi Divas, Parayan and other important festivals of Shri Gajanan Maharaj since the year 2016. The life size murti of Shri Gajanan Maharaj in Shri Dwarkamai temple will offer more opportunities to Maharaj devotees in the New England area to offer prayers and puja to their revered Guru. 

Shri Gajanan Maharaj of Shegaon, is an exalted saint from the Vidarbha region of Maharashtra state in India. His first appearance was observed in Shegaon on February 23rd, 1878, as a young person. He entered in ‘maha-samadhi’ on September 8th, 1910. In a short period of 32 years, He enlightened many people by His legendary grace. Although many years have passed since Maharaj left this mortal world, His devotees still experience realization, guidance, and blessings, seen as ‘miracles’. He is the ‘Sadguru’ for many, leading to life changing situations through difficult times. On Saturday, 22nd April, the following grand Pranapratishtapana event will take place: 10:00 am - Dindi (Kalasha Procession + Palakhi + Dhol Tasha + Taal Dance)

11:00 am - Ganapati Pooja, Punyaha Vachanam, Rakshabandhanam, Ankurarpanam 11:45 am - Dwarapooja, Kalasha Sthapana, Homam, Mahapoornahuti

12:30 pm - Jaladhivasam, Dhanyadhivasam, Pushpadhivasam, Netronmilanam and Pranapratisthapana

01:30 pm - Mahakumbhabhishekam, Alankaram 3 pm - Aarti, Maha Prasad

The program will start with Dindi in the temple premises. Dindi is a procession that follows Palakhi (decorated palanquin) of Maharaj’s Padukas. Dindi typically includes traditional devotional dances such as Taal dance and Lezim dance with background music and rhythm provided by indigenous percussion instruments called Dhol Tasha. New England Marathi Mandal (NEMM JOSH) and India society of Worcester (ISW) are the local organizations that will host Dhol Tasha during this Dindi. This Dindi will be special as 108 women devotees will carry water Kalasham with Tulasi leaves on their heads throughout the procession. This special water will be used for the Maharaj’s Abhishekam later.

The celebrations will continue 23rd April, Sunday with Mukhodgat Parayan of Gajanan Vijay Granth by Smt. Vidya Padwal from 8:30am onwards up until evening.

Smt. Vidya Tai Padwal is an ardent devotee of Shri Gajanan Maharaj, Shegaon. She is truly blessed as she has memorized the entire original Marathi Pothi 'Shri Gajanan Vijay Granth' written by Shri. Dasganu Maharaj, a well-known disciple of Shri Shirdi Sai Baba. This Pothi has 3669 lines in 21 chapters. Smt. Vidya Tai recites the entire Pothi without referring to the text in a unique Katha-Kathan style and brings Maharaj’s biography to life for the listeners. Her precious ‘Parayans’ are like another miracle to many of the devotees. She will be offering Mukhodgat Parayan on 23rd Apr, Sunday. Parayan will conclude with Aarati / Mahaprasad.
