समग्र  - दो पीढ़ियों का अन्तर्द्वन्द्व

What an enriched evening! Heartiest congratulations to Maneesh Srivastava ji for his first book ‘समग्र  - दो पीढ़ियों का अन्तर्द्वन्द्व’, bringing together Hindi-Urdu Poems spanning from 1944 to 2022, sharing two generations of poetries. Samagra includes three sections; First, ‘विरह के गीत’ by his Nana ji Late Brijvasi Lal Srivastava, Second, ‘दिल की उमंग’ by his Dada ji, Late Late Lakhan Lal Srivastava “Dil” and the third section comprise of his own collection of Poems under the title ‘कोलाहल’. He also shared a few heartwarming video renderings.

At the Academy of Creative Arts, an engaging, much inspiring conversation between the moderator, Sugandha Gopal, and the poet himself kept the house full of literature lovers in awe for an hour and a half on a Sunday evening and yet no one was ready for it to end. With his humorous wit, honest, joyful, sorrowful, and powerful rendering of different couplets from each section, Maneesh kept the audience engaged and mesmerized throughout the session. The session concluded with him accepting a few questions from the audience.

I have heard him in the past two years many times and I am always a huge fan of his ध्युन्यात्मक wordplay, his depth of knowledge in Hindi, and icing on top his recitation. उनकी हर कविता में भिन्न भिन्न रस के स्वाद और उनकी आवाज़ में कमाल का जादू । I will slowly digest his book. During his conversation he mentioned something like this.. “इन बड़े दिग्गजों के बीच मैं भी खप जाऊंगा”. Truly, Maneesh ji you are blessed to have your work published along with your Dada ji and Nana ji’s great poetries. It is a milestone accomplishment for you indeed! सचमुच आप को लेखन की प्रतिभा विरासत में मिली है। May your family legacy of literature and poetry continue its journey and your creative endeavors see new heights!

मनीष जी के हिन्दी साहित्य प्रति रुचि और प्रगाढ़ ज्ञान दोनों ही उनके अंदाज़-ए-बयाँ में झलक रहे थे। Here is a couplet in my words summarizing his book..

गुल्लक में उन के कितने शब्द धरे हैं

उन शब्दों में नवरस के रंग भरे हैं 

विरह के गीतों में मन का कोलाहल

‘समग्र' में समाईं दिल की उमंगें हैं। 👏💐

मधुर, चतुर, चुटकुलों से भरे

बोल जिन के हैं इतने प्यारे

शब्द नहीं तारीफ़ करूँ मैं उन की

बस ढेर सारी बधाइयाँ हैं मनीष जी।💐🎉

In close, the enriching evening was a personal treat for me to see so many dear friends and accomplished fellow poets of different languages at the launch.
