Violin, Vocal, Mridangam, And Odissi Dance Arangetrams

Violin Arangetram: Sadhana Venkatesh

Sadhana Venkatesh, student of Guru Tara Bangalore, presented her violin arangetram on July 10th at the Littleton High School auditorium. Her ability to show great sensitivity while rendering the compositions while giving rein to her manodharma in the improvisational sections showed her understanding of the balance that is unique to Carnatic music.

Music Arangetram: Nandini Murali
Nandini Murali, a disciple of renowned Guru Smt. Tara Bangalore, recently presented her Carnatic vocal arangetram. Nandini was accompanied on the violin by Sadhana Venkatesh, also a student of Guru Tara. Young veteran Tarun Bangalore on the mridangam and seasoned stalwart Sri. Vaikom Gopalakrishnan on the ghatam provided the percussion accompaniment.

Mridangam Arangetram: Maheedhar Athreya

Mridangam arangetram by young Maheedhar Athreya, at the J Everett Collins Center for performing arts, Andover, in the august presence of the chief guest for the evening, Sangitha Kalanidhi Shri Trichy Sankaran - a doyen among percussionists of India, was a memorable event for years to come. Maheedhar, who is the grandson of Sangeetha Choodamani Shri O.S.Thiagarajan and son of Smt Aparna Balaji and Balaji Rajamani, is a disciple of ‘Nada Vallabha’ Shri Neyveli R Narayanan, one of the senior most disciples of ‘Padma Vibhushan’ Umayalapuram Shri K Sivaraman.
