Global Peace Secretariat Launched On International Day Of Non Violence

Press Release
10/04/2022

A Global Peace Secretariat was launched on October 2nd , Mahatma Gandhi's birthday marked as  U.N. International Day of Non Violence, celebrating it's 15th Anniversary in 2022.

Kumu Gupta, Secretary General and founder  of the Global Peace Secretariat remarked - " In today's world of mass shootings, war in Ukraine and Black Lives Matter, it is very important to focus on Gandhi Ji's message of Non violence and human rights and the Global Peace Secretariat is just that, a vehicle to bring together key places connected with Gandhi Ji's message and life".

Unveiling the website is the first step, said Miss Gupta, with a more formal structure being looked into for the future.

*An attempt was made to have the Empire State building, World Trade Center, UN building and Burj Al Khalifa ( U.A.E.)  be lit in blue ( UN color) with an image of Mahatma Gandhi for Oct. 2nd but due to short notice, did not happen this time. Miss Gupta will try next year again.
