KHANAK - A Dance Performance By Dance Troupe Visiting From India

The KHANAK dance performance has been so well received in several other cities that the local team decided to waive all tickets/fees/registrations so that a maximum number of people can enjoy this wonderful program.  The program by artists coming from India is scheduled for this Saturday, Aug. 27th, 2022 at 5:30 PM in Keefe Technical School auditorium. Khanak refers to sweet sound of Bangles.  The first part of the program features classical elements that are graceful and blissful like the tinkling of auspicious bells.  The second part will treat the audience to cultural diversity of India by extravaganza of folk dances:
1. Kashmiri Rouf
2. Assamese Bihu
3. Marathi Lavani
4 Rajasthani Ghoomar
5. Gujarati Dandia Raas and Garba Nritya

The show is a production of Kalanidhi Centre of Performing Arts from Kanpur. 

The show will benefit Support A Child project which supports food, shelter and education of very poor but deserving children in various states of India.  It was started by Vishwa Hindu Parishad of America whose volunteers meticulously monitor the use of donated funds and send an annual report about the supported child with photo and other details.

The schedule is as follows:
5 - 5:30 PM Snacks/Tea
5:30      PM Seating starts

6:00      PM Program starts

8:20      PM Program ends and dinner packets to attendees as available

9:00      PM Cleanup and out of building to avoid extra charges
