On August 14, the eve of 75 years of our independence Meghdhanush (rainbow) had its annual event at India Centre in Shrewsbury. This program was sponsored by ISW whose intent has been to promote regional languages and host different events at the newly renovated India center. This program was in Gujarati.

Meghdhanush - a rainbow of different colors. So each program has been colorful. This time we presented different styles of  poetry, songs and short films by locals young and old..The star of the show was Shobhit Desai a popular poet  from India joined by our very own Chandu Shah. Pulkit shah and Sejal Kothari other founder members, Pramod Thacker a veteran poet and Dr. Vikas Desai also read poems.
Melodious Gujarati songs were rendered by Jigna Shah, Ashutosh Patel, Himadri Pandya and Ronak Gudka.

This year Meghdhanush biggest initiative was to promote young talent. So we had 2 young poets Tanvi Shah and Pranali Ashara who read their lovely poems.
3 shorts films were presented produced, written, directed and acted by New England talented Gujarati youngsters Chirag Shah, Arth Joshi, Syna Bhuva and Anaya Joshi.

Meghdhanush is a platform for local poets, singers and like minded people who are interested in Gujarati literature.

We thank the audience for their evergreen support. For Gujaratis in Metro West this was first opportunity and thoroughly enjoyed it. The program was well attended.

Meghdhanush would like to thank the ISW team Sanjay Shah, Puneet Kohli, Ashish Cowlagi, Vaishali and Pratik Amin. Yogen Pathak for his technical support..
