Nazraana - Spotlight on the Live Music Band

At the Nazraana mega musical event (Aug 20 at Hanover Theater in Worcester, MA), there will be a band on stage accompanying Vijay Prakash and Anuradha Palakruthi. The band consists of almost 40 musicians from India led by Kamlesh Bhadkamkar. Bostonians remember this team fondly from their earlier concerts that celebrated the works of Madan Mohan in 2014, R. D. Burman in 2015, Singers Tribute in 2016 with Suresh Wadkar, and a BITS concert in 2018.

As said before, the band is led by Kamlesh Bhadkamkar, who is also a director of his own music company, Manasa Music, and he has produced melodic and truly enjoyable music in many different genres including Indian classical music, light music, Bhajans, Natyasangeet, children’s rhymes, and many more. He has worked to compose many songs for many movies and he has received a variety of awards as well. The Nazraana event band consists of many other musicians who help create the magic. This team includes chorus singers, sound engineer, string coordinator, tabla players, dholak players, thumba players, drummers, octapad players, percussionists, keyboard players, guitarists, flute players, violinists, sitar player, trumpeters, and so many other people who help make the music come to life.

This band is full of extremely talented people. For example, their sound engineer, Vijay Dayal, has been the recipient of multiple awards including the Zee Cine Award for Best Song Recording, IIFA Award for Best Song Recording, Mirchi Music Award for Sound Recording and Sound Engineering of the Decade, and the Mirchi Music Award for Best Song Engineer - Recording and Mixing. Another accomplished member of the band would be Satyajit Prabhu, one of the keyboard players of the band. He played his keyboard for all of Ashok Hande’s performances and he was a part of SA RE GA MA PA on Zee Marathi. Along with Dayal and Prabhu, Amar Oak, one of the flutists, has also been recognized for his musical abilities. He has received many awards such as the Sudhir Phadke Yuvonmesh Puraskar award, the vocational excellence award, and the Pannalal Ghosh Award, to name a few.

Arun Kumar is a very popular drummer from Bengaluru, is one of the few drummers who does interdisciplinary music. He has trained for Jazz drumming under his father B.S Sukumar and the renowned drummer Ranjit Barot. He has worked with musical greats such as SPB, Ilayaraja - to name a few.  Although few artists were highlighted here, the rest of the band is just as talented. Many of the band members have worked with artists around the world and have also worked to make soundtracks for movies.

We hope that you will join us on August 20 to see this amazing band in action alongside Vijay Prakash and Anuradha Palakruthi!
