WHA Teen Mental Health Initiative (TMHI) - Start a Chapter At Your School!

Given the rise in mental health issues arising from the pandemic, we are proud to announce a timely initiative dedicated to raising awareness about teenagers’ mental health problems and reducing the stigma around them. Founded BY teens FOR teens, Teen Mental Health Initiative or TMHI (an initiative of Wholistic Health Alliance Youth Brigade) is a national initiative that is working to enable a world where teens’ mental health issues are assessed and addressed in the same manner as physical health. TMHI aims at providing teenagers with information and resources to better their mental well-being, while also educating the parents and caregivers on this subject.

TMHI sheds light on the issues surrounding teens’ mental health, in the hopes of changing attitudes and creating positive reform. In addition, the initiative focuses on improving the environment of teen’s lives to mitigate mental health issues arising for youth of this age. To learn more about TMHI please visit:

In less than a year, schools like Arizona College Prep, Westborough High School, and Lexington High School have started a chapter of TMHI at their school. Students are successfully running these clubs, with hopes to expand the knowledge of Teen Mental Illness and increase awareness of such topics to reduce the stigmatism around getting help.

If you are a youth/ student, please consider volunteering to make a difference. Parents/adults are also welcome to volunteer. If you are a high school student that is motivated and interested in starting a club at your school, we hold monthly TMHI information sessions over zoom to provide more details. Our national team is currently working from all across the country to recognize when to get help and what to look out for when dealing with these kinds of issues through our multiple social media platforms and school chapters clubs. Through service projects like fundraisers and drives, these school clubs have already generated considerable awareness for teen mental health.

About the Youth Brigade (YB):  This is a youth volunteer group under Wholistic Health Alliance (WHA) that aims to involve youth in starting and engaging in conversations around health. It is targeted toward youth in the age group of 13-19, with the belief that healthy habits should be inculcated young. A healthy childhood and youth ensure a healthier and productive adult life. This platform provides an opportunity for our Youth to meet, have a conversation in their own ‘lingo’ within their own ‘tribe’, inspire and support one another, hopefully entrenching them soundly on a healthier life through education, interaction, and role modeling. Participating and contributing to non-profit activities allows them to give back to their community as well.  To learn more visit: https://wholistichealthalliance.org/youth-brigade-about.aspx
